Why recycle?
As the effects of economic activity on the environment become more visible every day, they have a direct impact on our daily lives. It is therefore imperative to undertake practical and effective actions together today, including the recycling of reusable equipment. Obsolescence can be delayed.
PC manufacturers and users need to integrate better management of end-of-life products into their business, as raw material resources are limited and non-renewable. Current legislation (RoHS and WEEE standards) requires the management of this waste and the limitation of the use of hazardous substances.
What is the difference between recycling and re-use?
Some equipment is reusable if it still has value and can be resold on the secondary computer market. Equipment that no longer has any value is dismantled so that materials such as steel, aluminium, copper, plastic, etc. can be reintroduced into the production cycle, thus reducing the need for raw materials for the manufacture of new products.
What is the Refresh Your PC program?
Refresh Your PC reconciles your IT renewal needs with a sustainable and supportive approach. When you buy new Dell hardware, Dell Technologies and Microsoft have joined forces to offer you the opportunity to recycle your old hardware in a simple, secure and eco-responsible way.
By choosing the Refresh Your PC program, you can be sure that your equipment will be treated in a secure manner, in compliance with all national and European requirements for traceability and data security. All equipment collected under this program is recycled in Europe.
How does it work?
After the audit of your equipment, you’ll learn the value of your PCs. You then have the choice of being reimbursed in cash for this value, or contributing the PCs to a charity or association.
Ready to participate? All you have to do is go to refresyourpc.eu and fill in your application. When you fill in the number of PCs to be recycled, you can choose to donate all or receive the cashback amount.

Do Dell Technologies and Microsoft administer the program?
Dell Technologies and Microsoft are initiating and supporting the program. They have also created partnerships with Aximpro, manager of the program and customer relationship, as well as TES, which is responsible for the recycling operations.
Does the recycling of my computer equipment cost me anything?
The process of collection, anonymisation, deletion of data, technical audit and repackaging are absolutely free for you and will be paid by Dell. The recycling of your equipment will actually become a source of income.
How will the cashback amount be paid out? And what is the time frame?
After receiving the audit report and the valuation of your PCs, you will need to issue an invoice to Aximpro. The payment will be made by transfer to the account that you have provided during the claim process within 45 working days from receipt of the equipment.
Can my request be cancelled?
Any request for cancellation or postponement of the collection must be made in writing within 48 hours before the agreed collection date.
In the event of cancellation or postponement after this deadline, the Service Provider reserves the right to charge a penalty of 100 Euros, excluding tax.
The equipment is at Service Provider TES: cancellation will only be possible after the equipment has been checked. Processing and shipping costs will be at your expense.
How can I cancel my request?
To cancel your request, please send an email to contact@refreshyourpc.eu
Make sure to indicate the reference number of your return in the subject line of the email (this number can be found on the email validating your request).
How is the value of my equipment determined?
The value of used equipment is based on three main indicators:
- System configuration
- The state of the equipment
- Supply and demand in the IT aftermarket
On receipt of your equipment, the technicians carry out an audit consisting of a series of detailed tests to determine and document the configuration of the device, as well as its functional and aesthetic condition.
Once the audit is complete, you will receive an audit report by email via the platform detailing the configuration and condition of each system, its data erasure certificate, its recovery and its destination: recycling, cash-back or donation.

What if I don’t know the status or configuration of all my equipment? How much can I receive for recycling my PCs?
On the www.refreshyourpc.eu website, you have an evaluation tool that allows you to determine the potential value of your old system according to its characteristics and configuration. This is only an indication and has no contractual value.
We then audit your laptops and desktop CPUs upon receipt. The status, configuration and repurchase value are then edited and will be provided to you.

We provide packaging and collection throughout the following countries: Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain. We can provide this service on several sites as long as the minimum quantity of 25 units to be recycled is present on one site.
How long does this process take?
From the time the equipment is received in our workshops, the audit process to provide you with a residual value is 15 working days.
What happens to my computer equipment?
The hardware is delivered to TES, which responsibly recycles this equipment via an economical and environmentally friendly process. The hardware is audited, and the data is erased. If the equipment is reusable, it is resold through TES’s commercial channels. If the equipment is not reusable, it is dismantled and sorted by type of material (such as steel, aluminium, copper, plastic, etc.) and then reused to make new products or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. All of this processing is done exclusively in Europe. Not only does this approach help protect our environment by reducing the amount of material sent to landfill sites, but it can also minimise the need for raw materials when manufacturing new products.
What is the Proof of Purchase?
You will need to upload an electronic copy of the purchase invoice for qualifying units from 25 new commercial client products aged maximum 90 days prior the program request date.
